A one-liter dimpled glass stein, weighing about 3 pounds when filled, is used
The stein must be held by the handle, with the thumb resting on the other fingers and the pinkie either inside or outside the handle. The stein should be held directly in front of the competitor, not to the side
Competitors must keep their arm straight and parallel to the ground. Leaning or arching the back is limited, and any spillage results in immediate disqualification
The winner is the person who can maintain this position the longest without breaking form or spilling any beer. It's a test of both physical strenght and mental endurance, often seen at Oktoberfest celebrations and other beer festivals.
